It’s that time of the year kids again. It’s the end of August which means that the start of the new school year is quickly approaching. Parents are very happy and eager that the kids will be gone all day so that they can be more productive and maybe take a quick nap. Students aren’t very happy because it means going to bed and getting up early, sitting in class all day, and having homework to do again. Getting ready to go back to school can be hard but by following these tips the transition will be a little easier.

  • Get back to your school sleep schedule 2 weeks before school starts
  • Get immunizations
  • Get involved in after school activities                                                      
  • Get back on a schedule
  • Have family time                                                                             
  • Don’t procrastinate on homework
  • Get together with friends                                            
  • Set realistic goals
  • Prepare for the next day the night before
  • Pack healthy lunches and plenty pf water
  • Create an award system
  • Talk about feelings and their day
  • Do something fun
  • Take a breath

Everyone has their own way of doing things. Do what works best for you but most importantly do not forget to vaccinate so that your kids can stay as healthy as possible. Have a good year!
