The Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Tips From Former Smokers Campaign is a federally funded national tobacco education campaign. Beginning in March 2012, the campaign tells the stories of smokers and non-smokers effected by secondhand smoke who live with smoking-related health problems, disseases, and disabilities. Tips goals include encouraging smokers to quit, prevent secondhand smoke, and build public awareness of the immediate health implications caused by smoking and secondhand smoke.

Break Away from the Pack booklets and phone counseling
Receive 8 weeks of free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) delivered right to your home, and four telephone counseling-support sessions with your own individual counselor. This is a research study sponsored by the Air Force and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Enroll by calling the number above, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CDT. Available to TRICARE beneficiaries (active duty, dependents, and retirees).
National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute's trained counselors are available to provide information and help with quitting in English or Spanish. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
TRICARE Tobacco Cessation Quit Line
Michigan falls in the North Region of TRICARE's toll-free Tobacco Cessation Quit line, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
American Heart Association
American Heart Association provides information about tobacco as well as how to quit.. Includes quizzes, resources, and tips.
American Lung Association
Provides support for tobacco cessation and free "Help for Smokers and Other Tobacco Users" guide.
CDC Tips from Former Smokers
This campaign offers insight into the lives of people who are living with serious long-term health problems from smoking and secondhand smoke exposure. Includes facts and statistics about how tobacco can affect illnesses and conditions.
